top 10 beauty moments from the met 2025

The first Monday in May has returned, bringing with it the most ostentatiously crafted beauty and fashion looks gracing us straight off the red carpet. Which means it’s time to pour yourself a tea, turn on the TV, and channel your inner Miranda Priestly.

This year’s dress code, “Tailored For You,” invited guests to explore the art of personal style through the lens of custom design and refined elegance. But with the Met’s exhibit, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” also in focus, many attendees paid homage to the history and innovation of Black sartorial identity.

Straight from the steps of the Met (or, let’s be honest, my couch), I’ve rounded up the top 10 beauty looks that defined this year’s Gala. From meticulously sculpted hair to skin that glowed like glass, these looks weren’t just on-theme — they were timeless, intentional, and a celebration of dandyism, artistry, and innovation at its finest.

  1. PAMELA ANDERSON

Pamela Anderson’s no-makeup makeup moment is something we, as a society, deeply needed. In a sea of heavy glam, she reminded us (and every young girl watching) that you don’t need layers of product to be radiant — just confidence, good skin, and maybe a little light. Icon.

2. RIHANNA

As per, Rihanna knows how to own a red carpet. With her signature Fenty glow and a statement blush that sat high and proud on her cheekbones. Nobody does “bold but effortless” quite like Rih.

3. CHAPPELL ROHAN

Chappell Rohan + Pat McGrath Labs = guaranteed magic. Metallic eyeshadow shimmered with every blink, gemstone-studded brows caught the light, and a hit of purple liner tied it all together. This was avant-garde beauty with a capital A.

4. SYDNEY SWEENEY

Sydney served smudged-liner siren energy with a smoky, matte eye, fluffy brows, and just the right amount of lower-lash drama. Nude glossy lips and velvety skin pulled it all back to earth — sultry meets angelic, in the best way.

5. DOECHII

Doechii said bold and meant it. A cheek accent that nodded to Louis Vuitton’s monogram? Chic. Clever. The pop of colour took the whole look from pretty to print-it-out-and-pin-it-on-your-wall status.

6. DOJA CAT

Doja Cat took us on a nostalgia trip with an 80s-inspired glam look. Pastel lids, graphic liner, and a crisp red lip made for the ultimate glam throwback. Nostalgia has never looked so modern (or so fun).

7. SERENA WILLIAMS

Serena brought Old Hollywood energy with glossy finger waves and a sultry eye that gave smoulder without trying too hard. Matte skin, defined eyes, and just the right amount of drama — timeless, with a side of power.

8. LUPITA NYONG’O

Lupita lit up the carpet — literally — with rhinestone-studded brows that twinkled under the lights. Paired with soft, smoky eyes and luminous glass skin, this look struck the perfect balance between glam and cool.

9. LISA

Lisa went for a clean, radiant vibe, with blush draped under her eyes for a soft-sculpt effect and glossy rose lips to tie it all together. A lesson in minimal makeup with maximum impact.

Laura brought soft, romantic waves paired with radiant, rosy skin that glowed from within. The subtle, effortless elegance of her look was a perfect final note on a night full of bold beauty statements.
